;The basis of the circuit is a field-effect transistor with a p-n junction. Gate and source are interconnected. At zero gate-source voltage, the current through the transistor is equal to the initial drain current that flows when the voltage between the drain and the source is greater than the saturation voltage. Therefore, for normal operation of the diode current stabilizer, the voltage applied to the terminals must be greater than a certain value from 1 to 3 volts.
