Thin-walled metal hemisphere with bronze shavings. The closed housing protects against solder droplets that can bounce off the tip during cleaning.
An interwoven skein of bronze shavings is embedded inside the hemisphere.
Does not require regular wetting, unlike cellulose sponges.
The soldering iron tip can be easily cleaned of solder and flux residues without damaging the surface, which is especially important for durable chrome-plated tips.
The advantage of the dry cleaning method over the wet cleaning method is also that the temperature of the tip does not decrease, and there is no thermal shock load on the chrome-plated coating.
Dry cleaning significantly extends the service life of soldering iron tips and tips.
The metal body of the device is non-flammable, not electrified, i.e. antistatic and meets fire safety requirements.
