The scanner supports all OBD2 protocol interfaces (ISO-9141, KWP2000/EKWP2000, PWM, VPW and CAN), all 9 diagnostic modes, including real-time display mode, which allows you to quickly detect faults in most modern gasoline and some diesel engines.
 
The autonomy and portability of the device allows service center specialists to quickly determine the alleged source of the malfunction and assess the complexity of the upcoming repair already at the stage of car acceptance. For car owners, the scanner will also be useful for monitoring the state of the car's engine in conditions of a long trip or in the absence of qualified service personnel.
 
A distinctive feature of MaxScan products is also ergonomics, ease of use, and a well-thought-out intuitive interface. The device is equipped with a large multi-line LCD display with backlight, which has an extremely clear display of information at any time of the day in any light.
 
The GS500 has a built-in DTC database with textual explanations of DTCs, including custom codes from various vehicle manufacturers.
 
The scanner allows you to work with engines of all American cars since 1996, European cars (EOBD protocol) since 2001. as well as engines from Asian car manufacturers for the American or European market.
Most diesel engines manufactured after 2004 also support the OBD-2 protocol and can be diagnosed with the GS500. In addition, the MaxScan GS500 can work with other vehicle ECUs (body electronics and chassis electronics) if these units are integrated into the OBD2 (EOBD) system. To determine this possibility on a specific vehicle, the GS500 has a function of polling additional control units with the output of their base addresses.
