Water-soluble viscous gel FVL-40VG is a versatile organic ecoflux of a new generation with increased efficiency.
It was developed as a universal, non-toxic and non-aggressive in relation to metals for brazing non-ferrous metals and their alloys without surface cleaning.
Washed off with water.
It consists exclusively of substances used in the food and cosmetic industry, which determines its safety for health.
Designed for brazing copper, nickel-plated surfaces, brass, galvanized surfaces, some types of steel.
A distinctive feature of the flux is that it tins oxidized and darkened copper very well without causing further corrosion.
It is especially worth noting the extremely high efficiency of FVL-40VG when soldering nickel-plated connectors that cannot be tinned with rosin. Allows you to solder the RF connector quickly, preventing the dielectric from melting.
This property allows copper to be soldered without first stripping the darkened layer. The special composition and viscous gel-like consistency provides ease of application and easy rinse off of the flux residues with water or polar organic solvents (ethyl alcohol, isopropanol, acetone).
The main difference from classical fluxes is the absence of inorganic acids and their salts (chlorides and hydrochlorides), amines and amino alcohols (ethanolamine hydrochloric acid and diethylamine), ammonium salts in the composition of FVL-40VG. Since the flux does not contain compounds strongly dissociating in water, it does not corrode metals.
The flux does not contain toxic compounds and its vapors are not hazardous to health, unlike many other active fluxes containing halogens and toxic organics.
The ability to dissolve metal oxide layers is due to the ionization of active components only at high temperatures; under normal conditions, the flux has no noticeable activity.
When the flux burns out, a yellow slag forms on the tip of the soldering iron, which can be easily washed off with water.
It should be understood that any water-soluble substances in the presence of moisture have electrical conductivity determined by the degree of dissociation, therefore it is very important after the end of the soldering of electronic devices to completely wash off the flux residues with deionized or distilled water.
