Hitachi Graphic LCD Displays for Industrial Applications

Liquid crystal displays are currently the main display medium in information control computer systems. Having appeared in devices with room operating conditions, LCDs have come a long way of evolution and can now operate under very harsh conditions. The need for displaying graphic information in production has led to the development of the industrial LCD market. No development or modernization of computerized industrial equipment is complete without LCD displays, so developers always face the task of choosing LCD devices for their development. There are many LCD manufacturers offering devices of different cost, parameters and reliability, but not all of them produce devices suitable for harsh operating conditions. One of the few manufacturers of industrial LCDs is Hitachi, whose product overview we offer in this article.

Information display devices with auto-electronic cathodes

Recently, cathode ray tubes (CRTs) are increasingly being pushed out of the market for displaying video information by liquid crystal (LCD) and plasma technologies in the sector of personal and community displays, LED technology in the sector of public video screens. Thermionic cathodes commonly used in CRTs make devices based on them bulky (large screen thickness); the need for heating the cathode reduces the efficiency of the devices. The image on the CRT screen is formed due to the excitation of the phosphor by high-energy electrons, and to obtain a color image for the entire screen, the electron flow is formed by three electron guns, which reduces the brightness and ergonomic characteristics of the display.

New programmable audio processor with built-in scrambler

The British company CML has traditionally been a leader in the design and manufacture of low-current specialized processors for analog and digital wireless communications. Audio processor ICs for professional and semi-professional radio communication are very popular: CMX882, CMX838, CMX7031, CMX7041. The semi-professional equipment uses simple and reliable microcircuits CMX808, FX465. However, in connection with the transition to new technological processes, it becomes necessary to gradually replace them with similar ones,

still uncomplicated, but cheaper. Reducing the price becomes possible due to the transition to topological norms of 0.15 microns and the use of 200 mm silicon wafers. The new CMX138 processor should eventually replace the existing CMX808 and FX465.
