Thermionic cathodes commonly used in CRTs make devices based on them bulky (large screen thickness); the need for heating the cathode reduces the efficiency of the devices. The image on the CRT screen is formed due to the excitation of the phosphor by high-energy electrons, and to obtain a color image for the entire screen, the electron flow is formed by three electron guns, which reduces the brightness and ergonomic characteristics of the display.
