Evgeny Rakhno Microchip microcontrollers - where to start?
You have heard many times from friends that there are no more reliable microcontrollers than Microchip microcontrollers, that there are no more universal microcontrollers than Microchip 8-bit microcontrollers, that there are no more efficient and cheaper microcontrollers than Microchip 16-bit microcontrollers. So what is stopping you? And most likely, the absence of a clear answer to the two most standard questions - "Where to start?" and how much does it cost?"

Bogdan Sidorenko AVR32 - microcontrollers for applications in the 21st century
The introduction of the first 8-bit AVR microcontroller in the late 90s showed how by optimizing the architecture of the processor core, you can achieve better performance and reduce power consumption. The AVR architecture allowed most instructions to be executed in a single machine cycle, thus achieving almost an order of magnitude better performance relative to the then popular 8051 core. - and 64-bit microcontrollers. The improvements made in the architecture of the AVR32 core allowed, like the superiority of the AVR core over the 8051, to outperform its competitors (for example, the Cortex M3, ARM9, ARM11 cores), both in performance and power consumption, although in quantitative terms this superiority is not as impressive as before. ... This article will discuss the features of the AVR32 core and microcontrollers based on it.

Alexander Bashlykov AWP microcontrollers from NXP
ARM technology was born in 1983 by Acorn Computers. The first working ARM2 core (ARM then stands for Acorn RISC Machine) was created in 1986. Features of this core were 32-bit data bus, 26-bit address bus, which allowed working with 32 MB address space, and sixteen 32-bit registers. ARM2 was one of the simplest 32-bit processors with only 30,000 transistors. In subsequent versions, the kernel structure received various complications in the form of cache memory, additional registers, and increased performance.
As a result of the joint efforts of three companies: Acorn Computers, Apple Computer and VLSI Technology, Advanced RISC Machines ltd was formed in 1990. In the mid-1990s, ARM-based processors were used successfully in Apple's Newton minicomputers. In the future, various versions of the AWS architecture were used in mobile applications, game consoles, network routers, MP3 players and mobile phones.

Antonio Muinozz Control circuit for two LEDs on one pin of the microcontroller with low quiescent current
The main idea of the circuit described in [1] is to implement independent control of two LEDs using three resistors and only one pin of the microcontroller, operating with a high impedance for data input or output. The value of this circuit is due to both the economy of free pins of the microcontroller and its simplicity. Unfortunately, this circuit cannot be used in battery powered devices, since it continuously draws a current of about 2 mA even if both LEDs are off.
