Alcohol-soluble flux-paste FKM-20P is a universal organic ecoflux of a new generation based on modified rosin. FKM-20P paste is a non-toxic and non-corrosive to metals, alcohol-washable flux. FKM-20P consists exclusively of substances used in the food and cosmetic industry, which determines its safety for health.
Designed for soldering electrical switching doses, copper, nickel-plated surfaces, copper alloys (except for brass and zinc), allows tinning some grades of steel. It is especially worth noting the highest efficiency of FKM-20P when soldering nickel-plated connectors that cannot be tinned with rosin.
FKM-20P allows you to solder the RF connector quickly preventing the dielectric from melting.
A distinctive feature of the flux is that that it is very good at tinning oxidized and darkened copper without causing further corrosion even if it is not washed off.
This property allows you to quickly seal copper without first stripping the darkened layer. The soft consistency of the flux provides easy washable by polar organic solvents (ethyl alcohol, isopropanol, acetone, ethyl acetate).
The main difference from classical fluxes is the absence of inorganic acids and their salts (chlorides and hydrochlorides) in the composition of FKM-20P , amines and aminoalcohols (hydrochloric ethanolamine and diethylamine), acid anhydrides, ammonium salts. Since the flux does not contain strong electrolytes, it does not cause corrosion of metals.
The flux does not contain toxic compounds and its vapors are not hazardous to health, unlike many other active fluxes containing halogens and harmful organics.
The ability to dissolve metal oxide layers is due to the ionization of active components only in the molten state; at ordinary temperatures, the flux does not exhibit noticeable activity.
FKM-20P flux contains catalytically hydrogenated (hydrogen under pressure on palladium catalyst) rosin, the molecular composition of which is changed through a series of special chemical reactions. The rosin modified in this way is oxidized to a much lesser extent by atmospheric oxygen and is not prone to parasitic crystallization during storage of the product. It has an increased melting point and smoke point, and is devoid of low-boiling constituents.
