The new Raspberry Pi camera will come in handy in security projects or become the eyes of your robot. The camera is equipped with an eight-megapixel Sony IMX219 Exmor sensor, which allows you to capture, record and stream video in 1080p, 720p and VGA formats. For photographs, the maximum frame resolution is 3280 × 2464 pixels.
To connect the module, a special video input CSI (Camera Serial Interface) is used, which significantly reduces the load on the central processor compared to connecting cameras via USB. The module is compatible with all Raspberry Pi 1, 2 and 3 models.
