Ukrainian EMBee module with automatic Zigbee network formation function

Currently, the ZigBee direction is developing at a rapid pace. Energy metering, smart home, and fire alarm systems already need reliable wireless monitoring and control networks. For building ZigBee networks, a number of manufacturers offer modular solutions. But a domestic developer needs to make a lot of effort to implement a Mesh network based on such modules, despite the fact that most manufacturers already offer their own stack. A reliable ZigBee Mesh network requires the development of an application-level operating system that must provide very tight synchronization using stack libraries. To help developers, an intelligent module EMBee is offered, which is a complete network solution with support for various types of devices. The article discusses the possibilities and examples of using the module, as well as the ease of building a ZigBee network based on the EMBee module.

Increasing the bandwidth of digital data transmission channels based on the high-speed synchronous interface training algorithm

The problem of high-speed data transfer between FPGA chips on a printed circuit board, or exchange with external modules via high-frequency cables when using interfaces with a transfer rate of up to 800 Mb/s for each physical channel, is considered. The necessity of the process of initial initialization of the synchronous interface (training) is shown. The interface training algorithm is described. The results of the algorithm are presented.

Generating complex test signals using vector generators ROHDE&SCHWARZ

Modern transceiver devices are designed to operate in a complex electromagnetic environment. The adjacent channels may contain broadband signals from mobile communication devices, broadband access, and impulse noise. When developing and testing transceiver devices, it is important to simulate such an environment as close to reality as possible and make the device under development as resistant to these influences as possible. Typically, such a test setup is quite complex and includes several transmitting devices or generators. The costs of building it are also quite high. The new generation of vector generators from ROHDE&SCHWARZ greatly simplifies this task.

Transcoding audio and video data for consumer electronics

The problem of providing mobile access of many network users to audio and video media content is considered. To solve this problem, the stored or viewed content must be exchanged between devices on the network in such a way that this content can be viewed on different devices at different times and by different users. It is shown that this problem is solved by one system-on-a-chip using the DaVinci processors manufactured by Texas Instruments.

International Rectifier ICs for Fluorescent Lamp Brightness Control

The article discusses the innovative solutions of the International Rectifier (IR) company for the implementation of electronic ballasts (ECG) with dimming for fluorescent lamps. The demand for electronic ballasts with controlled brightness of the fluorescent lamp is quite large. This is due not only to the popularity of decorative lighting, but also to the problem of energy saving. Users today increasingly want variable power ballasts. IR is today the recognized leader in energy-efficient fluorescent lighting solutions.

Preventing deformation of printed circuit boards during the design phase

In the process of manufacturing almost any product, the appearance of deformations is unpleasant, but, as a rule, inevitable. The production of printed circuit boards (PCBs) is no exception. The problem of the appearance of deformations in printed circuit boards is not new, and many methods have already been developed to prevent or reduce such defects at various stages of the production process.

The article is addressed, for the most part, to designers and is devoted to identifying the causes of such defects, gives recommendations for eliminating them at the stage of designing a printed circuit board. Differences in permissible deviations from the norm are also considered when preparing a draft board for production at domestic and foreign plants.
