Requirements for the control system for high-power pulse IWE are formulated, which must be taken into account in the control algorithm for such sources. An overview of publications devoted to the control of switching power supplies, including those with microprocessor control, is given. A generalized block diagram of a powerful pulsed IVE (AC/DC converter) with microprocessor control is described. The features of the control algorithm and the requirements for the microprocessor (microcontroller) are considered. The stated provisions and conclusions are illustrated by the example of a pulsed IVE circuit with a power of 1200 W.

Lithium ion (Li-Ion) rechargeable batteries are widely used in portable devices, since they have a high specific energy density and the study of the conditions for the effective use of capacity is an important practical task. It is highly undesirable for the charger to fail to complete the charging process or to give the end user a false warning while charging the lithium ion battery. The article discusses the problems of charging completion and safety timer false alarms in the widely used architecture of chargers and systems power supplies. To solve these two problems, Dynamic Power Path Management (DPPM) technology is presented with an example of its implementation. The technology also allows the user to operate the system while charging a heavily discharged battery at the same time.
