The adapter is a digital, galvanically isolated RS-485 data transmission interface. This serial interface standard provides high-speed data exchange over a relatively long distance over one differential line (twisted pair) and ground, which allows it to be used not only in tandem with CFM frequency converters, but also for any other needs where there is a need for computer communication and various equipment via the RS-485 protocol. To match the communication line, you can use a terminal resistor that is already installed inside the adapter with the ability to turn it on and off with a microswitch. In-circuit protection of communication lines with 5 volt suppressors is also provided.
This adapter, unlike others, structurally has electrical isolation, also known as "galvanic isolation", which is an effective way to ensure a high level of equipment safety and increased quality of information transfer. Galvanic isolation prevents the appearance of high voltages that can damage sensitive electronic components, and in data transmission systems, isolation prevents the appearance of loops in the ground circuits of long lines with a high potential difference between the grounding conductors, which allows reducing the noise level in the useful signal, which simultaneously provides a longer communication range and a better electromagnetic compatibility.
