Ideal for delta type 3D printers with A4988/DRV8825 drivers.
The driver in 3D printers sends a signal to the stepper motor in the form of a stepped sinusoid with a gradual increase in current. When forming a sinusoid with a very small step (starting from 1/32), the first steps may not be enough to turn the rotor of the stepper motor and a step is skipped. The reason for this is the current controller of the driver. To solve this problem, a device was proposed, consisting of a chain of back-to-back diodes connected to each of the stepper motor windings. According to calculations, at a current of 0.6, A, the voltage across the diodes should be 1.4 V. Thus, you can “deceive” the driver and it starts to generate the required current, the stepper motor does not skip microsteps at the beginning. The anti-aliasing effect is especially noticeable on printers with delta mechanics and DVR8825 and A4988 drivers. Rectifier diodes S3M or its equivalent are installed on the module board.
