Optical EndStop sensor (limit switch) is used to determine the extreme positions of coordinates along the X, Y and Z axes of the 3D printer. Its distinctive feature is the presence of an optical pair that reacts to an obstacle in the area between the LED and the photoresistor, which determines the extreme position and stops the stepper motor operation along this axis.
The optical EndStop sensor (limit switch) works silently, when the end position is reached, the LED lights up. Such a sensor is considered to be more accurate and reliable than a mechanical sensor, however, it is worth noting that false alarms can occur if exposed to direct sunlight and dust.
The pinout is suitable for connecting directly to RAMPS 1.4
