PLA (Polylactic Acid) is an eco-friendly and easy-to-print thermoplastic made from lactic acid derived from renewable sources such as corn starch or sugarcane. It is widely recognized as one of the most stable and beginner-friendly materials for 3D printing.
PLA has a clean, slightly glossy appearance and maintains its shape well. Printed parts are rigid, dimensionally accurate, and exhibit very low shrinkage. The material is ideal for decorative models, prototypes, household accessories, and any projects where visual quality and easy printing are priorities.
Based on our experience, PLA absorbs moisture much slower than PETG, but during long-term storage it can still accumulate humidity from the air. If the spool has remained open for more than 2–3 months, we recommend drying it. Optimal drying conditions are 3–4 hours at 45–50°C. Drying improves layer adhesion and overall print stability.
