The device can be used as a pre-start device directly on the car, providing fast charging of the battery and subsequent assistance to the operation of the car starter.
The charger (charger) is designed to charge lead-acid batteries (batteries) of all types.
Has protection against short circuit, against incorrect polarity connection (fuse). Can be used to charge alkaline batteries, but it is necessary to control the battery temperature to avoid overheating.
The charger provides three charging modes.
1) Charge level “Low” voltage 13.8V
Used to charge and store all types of batteries, as well as when the charger operates in 12V power supply mode. The current is set by the regulator on the front panel to the maximum value. At a voltage of 13.8V, the battery can remain connected to the charger for an unlimited time.
2) Charge level “Medium”, voltage 14.4V.
Basic charge level for all types of lead-acid batteries, incl. gel and AGM. The current is set manually using the ammeter on the front panel of the charger. The current is selected from 0.1 to 0.2 C, where C is the battery capacity in ampere-hours. Charging time 10-12 hours.
This level can be used to start the motor at low temperatures (for this purpose the current is set to maximum).
The battery does not need to be disconnected from the car; charging time is about 30 minutes. Make sure that the battery does not overheat.
3) Charge level “High”, voltage 16V.
Used ONLY FOR SERVICED BATTERIES and ONLY WHEN THE BATTERY IS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE in the case when other levels “do not charge”. For example, for deep battery discharges, for charging at low temperatures (below -5°C), for charging alkaline batteries.
To restore lead-acid batteries, the current is set to 0.05 C, the charging time for restoration is 10-12 hours. For charging at low temperatures, the current is set to 0.1-0.2 C, charging time is 2 hours.
For alkaline batteries, the current is 0.1-0.2 C, the charging time is 10-20 hours.
4) Possibility of working as part of uninterruptible power systems as an additional current source to accelerate the charging of high-capacity batteries. Such an auxiliary source is especially relevant for lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4), which allow rapid charging at high currents.
