The adapter board is compatible with 16-pin modules based on ESP8266 (ESP-07, ESP-08, ESP-12, ESP-14). There are no pads on the board for soldering the ESP-12E end contacts, so it is impractical (but possible) to use it with this module.
The board has two pull-up resistors to provide the voltage levels required for starting the module on certain pins. On the back of the board there is a place for a voltage regulator in a SOT-89 package (for example, HT7533).
When adding a stabilizer to the VCC input, it will be possible to supply 5 V (depending on the stabilizer), but then it will be necessary to evaporate or break off the middle resistor on the board.
The board has a pinout relative to the ESP-12 pins.
