The mat is designed to protect the table surface from cuts and to maintain the sharpness of the cutting edge of the knife when cutting. Used for all types of paper, cardboard, plastic or wood modeling, patchwork, quilling, quilting, scrapbooking and cardmaking.
They work on the rug with knives with round blades or standard and breadboard knives. They cut fabric, leather, tape, paper, cardboard, film, banner fabric.
For cutting, circular or roller knives for cutting fabrics, ordinary office knives with breakaway segments and model scalpel knives are used.
The cutting mat consists of three layers.
The base of the rug is rather hard, viscous plastic (it can be of different hardness). This is a non-cut layer.
An elastic, non-slip protective outer coating is applied to the base on both sides.
The blade sinks easily into the outer layer. Its structure pushes the cut edges towards each other so that the surface of the rug remains dense enough for multiple cuts.
The outer coverings are marked to make it easier to cut materials.
Recommendations for use:
The mat should be stored away from direct sunlight, on a flat surface, and should not be exposed to sudden temperature changes.
Different areas of the surface of the mat should be cut to extend the life of the mat.
Do not put a hot soldering iron on the mat, put anything hot or heat anything on it with a hot air gun, there are special heat-resistant mats for this.
Do not cut on the rug with thick kitchen and hunting knives, as cuts of this thickness will not heal.
