The reason for the markdown is the incorrect operation of the power regulator, the soldering iron overheats, the lower temperature limit is too high. For normal operation, the triac controller needs to be reconfigured (component replacement and tuning), or an external triac controller can be used.

There is no temperature sensor, and, accordingly, there is no controller feedback, so this controller is not a thermostat. However, the ability to adjust the power allows you to control the temperature of the tip, to avoid overheating, thereby maintaining the required soldering temperature. Limiting the power also extends the life of the heater and tip, reducing the fading of the protective chrome coating.

Due to the high heating dynamics, it is not recommended to operate the soldering iron with the maximum heater temperature, i.e. in the extreme right position of the voltage regulator knob, especially with a small mass (thin) sting installed. This will avoid overheating of the soldering iron, thereby ensuring high-quality soldering, a long service life of the tip and heater.
